A boy was robbed in Castle Park. Two suspects with a weapon forced him to hand over jewellery before fleeing.

The boy didn’t get hurt, luckily. Essex Police responded to the call and used armed officers to investigate the situation. Two people of interest then got on a train going to London.
The train left from Colchester North station. Police worked with transport police to keep everyone on the train safe and keep an eye on those two people.
When the train stopped at Shenfield, police arrested the two people. Police found jewelry and lots of cash too. Both arrested people are 18 years old and are in custody, so they can ask them questions.
Colchester’s criminal investigations team leads the investigation. A detective said the public was never in danger, thanking officers for their work and urging witnesses to contact police.
Essex Police said firearms officers patrol daily to keep the public safe in Essex. A police chief heads armed policing and said these officers are protecting Essex daily.
She likes that they do it without needing extra attention and is grateful for their service. She says the public rarely hears about their tactics.
