Council layout designs approved but may be useless due to Norfolk council merger plans.

The Boundary Commission looked into things and suggested adding a couple more councillors. Breckland has 49 now, and they planned for 51 with the council making new layout designs. The designs got approved at a meeting.
But, here’s the twist: all Norfolk councils might disappear soon! Big changes are happening in local government, where eight councils could get replaced by new councils that will cover everything instead.
Norfolk currently uses two layers for services: The county council handles some things, while city, district, and borough councils handle others. The changes could create unitary councils that would handle everything with a new mayor.
One councillor said the work might be useless, suggesting there might not be more Breckland elections. However, the layout idea could still prove useful. Another councillor called it a waste of time, adding that he thinks the effort was all pointless.
