They’re holding an event. You can meet people from Somerset Council, and Taylor Woodrow contractors will also be there. Ask questions about the project.

The Celebration Mile is one of eleven projects. These projects use Bridgwater Town Deal money. The Town Deal brings £23.2 million. It’s government investment for local projects aimed at boosting Bridgwater’s town center.

Somerset Council sees it as a central improvement. They believe it will revitalize Bridgwater and make it more welcoming for shoppers, residents, and visitors.

Mike Rigby, a Somerset Council member, spoke about the event. He said it’s a chance to learn about the Mile work, and the team hopes many people attend.

Rigby understands people’s frustrations. Eastover and Clare Street are closed now, and Celebration Mile work causes disruption. They are keeping this disruption minimal.

To help, they are adding more signs. These signs show the streets are open, ensuring shoppers, residents, and businesses can still access them.

Clare Street will close to vehicles for five months. This closure begins on February 17, 2025, as part of the Celebration Mile project. People can still walk there.

Taylor Woodrow visits shops and homes to ensure everyone stays informed. Residents get a contact for concerns, and the team confirms specific access needs at meetings.
