Bridlington Market wins prestigious award at the Great British Market Awards for its community impact and economic boost.

The awards showed how markets help the UK by improving communities, boosting tourism, and helping the economy.
Bridlington Market has made a comeback, now run by a Market Cooperative. Volunteers do most of the work there, ensuring traders nearly always show up. The market is getting more popular, especially with young traders.
The government gave the market money, used for projects and events. An ice trail brought 40,000 visitors, helping shops on High Street.
The Christmas event, with a light switch-on, was a hit and made the community feel closer. The plan is to have more food festivals.
Angela Langton and Julie Boyes accepted the award, speaking for the market traders. They talked about the market’s changes, highlighting how management, innovation, and community helped revive the old market.
Angela said it was an honor to collect the award with Julie and that it makes the town shine.
