Brooks restaurant in Brighouse is under new ownership. Alice Smith and Lily Brooke Day are new owners.

Alice worked in business finance for 16 years, at Ultimate Finance and Aldermore Bank. Lily has hospitality experience, having recently run an art gallery in London.
In 2023, Brook’s was a top 100 UK restaurant. Greg Foggo and Lauren Midgley owned it then, and The Good Food Guide chose it. They considered it one of Britain’s best local spots.
The new owners will keep the menu and feel. Brook’s offers modern British food and provides a relaxed atmosphere. Brook’s has a private dining room for 20 people, and they offer weekend brunch and Sunday lunch too.
Dan Maxwell is the head chef, and he has worked there for over five years. He will continue to lead the kitchen, keeping his popular dishes on the menu.
Alice and Lily used to be Brook’s customers. Now they own the place, and Alice said owning a restaurant was their dream. They wanted to buy Brook’s when it was available.
Alice said Brook’s has a great reputation. They plan to keep up the hard work and their goal is to build on the restaurant’s success. She joked their maiden name, Brooke, made it fate.
