John Elumelu, called Junior, died last year. People found him in his Briston flat on August 5. He was near Holt and was 59 years old.

Someone last saw him alive on June 13. A friend took him to the dentist that day, where he had a tooth removed. The friend brought him home safely.

Neighbors got worried after not seeing him and found him dead inside his home. Police investigated the circumstances around his death, and an inquest happened Tuesday.

Johanna Thompson, an assistant coroner, had to make an open conclusion. Investigations could not find his cause of death.

Caroline Wall, a Norfolk Police sergeant, said officers found no signs of a crime. They saw no third-party involvement at his flat.

Mrs. Thompson shared an open conclusion. She said they could not learn how he died because they found him too long after his death.

He was in his home when they found him, and there were no obvious signs of what happened. It remains a small mystery, she noted.

His family gave a tribute after the inquest, saying they loved and cared about Junior. They also said they would never forget him.

The court learned of his past employment. He had worked as clubs’ bouncer in Dereham and Norwich clubs, and he also worked in Leicestershire.

He was born in Stepney, London. Some neighbors knew him as Rasta John.
