A British businessman, Campbell Scott, disappeared in Kenya. Some feared he was kidnapped and murdered. Campbell was 58 years old and came from Scotland. His body was found days after he disappeared in a sack of pineapples.

Campbell worked for a data analytics firm, Fico, as a senior director. CCTV saw Campbell before he went missing, when he stayed at Nairobi’s JW Marriott hotel. Police started looking for him February 16.

Campbell lived in Dunfermline. CCTV showed him in a Scotland kit one day before he vanished. Detectives say he left the hotel with a man in white and blue jeans. They got in a car and drove off.

Herdsmen found a body in a sack on February 22 in Makongo forest, near Nairobi. The man was probably strangled. His employer confirmed Campbell’s death Monday night.

Fico said police identified Campbell Scott’s body. He went missing on a business trip to Nairobi last Sunday. Fico is not sharing more details as the police are still investigating. Local media think he was kidnapped.

Police took statements from six hotel people. A taxi driver got arrested, and a waiter also got detained. Fico gave a statement about Campbell, saying they are devastated. He was a great leader.

Fico said Campbell joined in 2014 and helped grow their business a lot. They will miss his kindness and humor.
