Brit Lottery Ticket Purchase Before Death Shown on CCTV

Andrew Searle and his wife Dawn were found dead at their home in Les Pesquiès, France. Before his death, Andrew bought chocolate and lottery tickets, smiling and chatting with the shopkeeper as part of his routine. The couple had moved from Scotland.

Andrew was 62 and Dawn was 56. Andrew was found hanged with a gag, while Dawn was near the front door with a head wound. Jewelry was scattered around her, leading police to initially consider robbery, though murder-suicide was also explored.

One theory suggests gangsters may have targeted them. Andrew fought money laundering and worked against organized crime and terrorism, potentially creating enemies.

Isabelle Palazy, who served Andrew at the shop, said they were regular customers. He bought cigarettes every day and seemed happy on the day he purchased chocolate and lottery tickets. The shopkeeper expressed shock at their deaths, describing them as a lovely couple.

Isabelle knew his favorite chocolates: KitKats and Kinder. He worked on his house, which they rented to tourists. A neighbor noticed Andrew seemed agitated on the phone, arguing in English, and a friend mentioned his garage door was open.

Andrew worked for Standard Life Bank, collaborating with police and the government on anti-bribery and sanctions. His focus was on preventing business with criminals.

Dawn married Andrew in 2023 and is the mother of actor Callum Kerr. Callum is “grieving the tragic loss,” as is his sister Amanda. Andrew’s children Tom and Ella are also grieving. Callum walked Dawn down the aisle.
