Hey, guess what’s happening around town? Lots of building changes are in the works. Some are small, other projects are quite big deals. Many sites sit within special areas, so changes face review.

Over in Keston, someone wants to redo 30 Heathfield Road. They plan to knock down the front wall, add a back extension, and a front porch. They want to convert the loft and garage, too. The driveway will widen, allowing for vehicle changes. This spot is a protected area, so plans must fit in.

In Beckenham, plans are up for the old Lidl at 22 Fairfield Road. Owners want to add many new advertising signs. These include illuminated letters and logos. The signs must also match the area’s look.

More changes hit Beckenham at 7 Den Close. They will remove an old extension then build a new one on the side and back, and part of the front will extend with a porch.

A big change is set for 113 High Street in Bromley. The empty shop may become a restaurant and a place for takeout food. Changes include a new door in the front. They’ll add five AC units and two air vents to the back of the building.

The Sovereign of the Seas pub wants longer hours. It’s at 109-111 Queensway in Petts Wood. They now close earlier, but want to stay open from 8 AM to 12:30 AM every day.

West Wickham sees mixed changes at 77 Addington Road. The medical center stays but will grow in size thanks to a back extension with two floors. Two three-bedroom apartments and conversions of part of the first floor to new space are also in store. They’ll restore a nice old building to a home.

A new garage is planned in Bickley at Orchard House, 5 Woodlands Road. In Bromley, a new extension is coming to 7 Sundridge Avenue. It will replace the old one-story addition. They will add solar panels on the roof, too.

They will dig holes at 8 Masons Hill in Bromley. This is to check for problems with the house walls. In Orpington, a new house is planned behind 12 and 14 Broomwood Road. They’ll add roads, parking, and landscaping.

Bromley Council has all the plans online. You can check them out on its website and also share thoughts with them in writing, within 21 days.
