Council tax in Bromsgrove will rise by 2.99 percent following budget approval, impacting Band D homes with a weekly increase.

The District Council collects all Council Tax for other groups, too. Worcestershire County Council, the Police and Fire services, and parish councils also receive funds.
A Band D property’s total bill is £2,302.72 each year; this total increased by 4.86 percent, indicating your overall cost goes up.
Steve Colella spoke about challenges, noting that the government grant and national insurance funding fell short. As a result, the council had to adjust. He said they raised the Council Tax but stayed within government limits to help maintain public services, stating, “We want to keep things good.”
They are investing for the future and plan for devolution to help regenerate the District, aiming for a better Bromsgrove.
Councilor Karen May shared that the council keeps only 11 percent of all the Council Tax collected, which supports local work. She also discussed the Council Tax increase, emphasizing her desire to maintain services for residents and that the council puts communities first by providing important services.
