King Edward Road fire spurs community action. GoFundMe pages launched supporting families who lost homes.

The fire caused major roof damage and impacted two homes joined together. People created GoFundMe pages to support the families affected. The fire was quite devastating.
Mikki Byrne organized one GoFundMe page because her aunt’s house suffered damage. The kids lost all their belongings and must now restart their lives. Donations can help them recover, especially since everyone got out safely with only the clothes they wore.
Emma Watkins started another GoFundMe supporting her sister’s house. It’s the house next door, and the fire destroyed her sister’s home too. They now have no home due to the fire, so donations will pay for housing and rebuild their lives.
Fire crews arrived at 10:31 a.m. These crews came from Hereford and Worcester, with five crews responding in total. They came from Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Wyre Forest, while Redditch sent two fire crews. The crews quickly put out the fire.
The fire was an accident; a child played with a lighter, starting it accidentally. Crews then made the building safe. Police kept a cordon around the road, and it stayed there for many hours.
Four people went to the hospital with injuries that seemed minor. Ambulance crews arrived at 10:35 a.m. and found four patients: two kids, a man, and a woman. They all went to Worcester Royal Hospital, while three others got checked and did not need more treatment then.
