Expansion into the old Bank of Scotland branch is at risk due to funding challenges.

Local groups feel frustrated about the project, as they struggle to get the needed funds. The current hub has been open about two and a half years. They hope to offer more services soon, and several sites could work, like the bank.
A group of volunteers leads this project. Buckie Area Forum and another trust are in charge. They hired a consultant with secured funds. The consultant studies the hub’s need.
Council officers think plans might stall. Volunteers feel upset about funding issues. Elgin got money for a similar project. Volunteers may quit because of this, and services like outreach and food may stop.
The Findochty trust wants to revive the bank and the chairwoman says a hub is needed. But getting money is hard. Funding is easier in places like Elgin, so Buckie’s hub must work harder for it.
Other groups are interested too, but the community council is not involved now. The chairman wants groups to cooperate more, as this would help all Buckie projects. The council will try to unite groups, and they hope the new hub advances this year.
