New cycling and walking plan guides investment in Buckinghamshire paths to connect towns and key locations.

This plan makes a network of paths. These paths connect towns and villages for bikes, wheelchairs, scooters, and walking. The paths link places like schools and jobs, and they connect to transport and attractions.
The council will figure out how to build these paths, talking to locals and doing design work. Finding money is vital for this to happen. These paths could be off-road or beside roads, and they might add new crossing points too.
The plan isn’t a fixed list of projects, nor does it justify other building projects. It gives residents choices for safe travel, so people can cycle, walk, or wheel instead of driving.
This new plan works with already existing town plans. Aylesbury, Buckingham, plus High Wycombe have their own plans. Those plans helped fund some projects already, and now, a new grant gives over £2 million more for travel programs.
Locals helped make this plan. They asked residents for their input. People who live, work, or visit Buckinghamshire helped, and the council asked for feedback in Autumn of 2024.
