Bucks Council will use reserve funds to avoid cuts to its planning enforcement team in 2025/26, ensuring continued service.

Martin Tett spoke at a meeting and said the council won’t cut funds impacting the planning enforcement team. The cut was planned for 2025/26. The council will now keep the money, using reserve funds. This avoids the cut for now, but only covers the next year.
Cllr Tett listened to other members and knows residents care about this issue. Planning enforcement is very important to them.
He said the budget is tight and the council must save money; they have to make many cuts. The council doesn’t want cuts, but they must make hard choices. Planning enforcement was a potential cut.
He stated that reserves must fund this because other areas cannot provide the funds. There are no other options available.
The council processes many applications and are third-largest in the country. They are fourth for enforcement notices outside London.
