Plans submitted to convert Goodfellows on Kings Road into three houses and six apartments in Bury St Edmunds.

M&D Developments sent the plans to the council. They want to change the Goodfellows building, which is on Kings Road. They plan three houses and six apartments. The developer bought it in March.
The building sat empty for years. Havebury Housing Partnership used to own it. It had twelve flats originally, but no one lived there since 2021. It was built in 2008.
The new design includes flats and houses. There are one and two-bedroom flats. Also, three-bedroom houses are planned. Each unit will have a street entrance.
Gardens and private spaces go in back. The main entrance faces Parkway. The design includes a bay window idea, inspired by the town’s style. Bins will be stored on the ground floor, facing King Road.
The plan is a modern take on a terrace design. It includes some traditional design features. The building has no car parking.
