Gordon says the “nice local pub” vibe drew him in. He has managed the pub for two years, calling it a big community pub. The team and customers make it friendly, and they welcome everyone to events.
They added an open mic night this week. Comedy nights have been popular since December, and music events will happen this summer. Four or five acts will play in the garden as the food menu changes with the seasons.

Gordon lives on-site and says hospitality struggles now. Overheads are high and may increase after April. They are positive for the summer season because the pub has a garden and he says live music is in demand.
Gordon sources meat locally from Shallis Butcher. The food menu changes each season, and they have lunch and event menus. Sunday lunches are very popular, and booking in advance is advised.
