Phillip Davies, 55, from Caergwrle, was imprisoned after breaching a sexual harm prevention order imposed in February 2024.

The court found him guilty earlier. Richard Edwards was the prosecutor. Davies got the order in February 2024. It lasts for ten years. He tried to sexually harm a child before. He also tried sexual communication with a child.
Police put software on his phone. The software watched his phone’s activity and tracked images, words, and typing. It sent hourly updates to a server, which then checked if it was active.
In April 2024, police checked his phone and saw dating site notifications. His internet history showed no dating site use. Davies said the software stopped working, claiming he restarted it manually.
Checks revealed Davies lied and he stopped the software himself. Mr. Edwards said he often broke the rules. Dafydd Roberts was Davies’ lawyer. It is indeed a strange situation for Davies. He continues to deny any deliberate actions and claims the app still turns off by itself.
Roberts said Davies followed rules well, despite the recent offenses. He complied with his suspended sentence order, but Davies broke that order now. Roberts said the court could still help him and asked the judge to reconsider jail time.
Judge Niclas Parry spoke to Davies, noting he had a suspended sentence already. It was for serious sexual offenses involving young children. He broke the order within two months, and the judge said he did it on purpose.
The Judge gave him two 12-month sentences for each offense, to run at the same time. He also activated a 12-month suspended sentence, running after the first. He will spend two years in prison.
