Inspectors laud Caerphilly fostering service for its great care, support, and positive impact on fostered children.

Foster parents and staff feel supported, and the staff are dedicated. They get training often. Council members praised the service, recognizing the foster families’ efforts at a meeting.
Elaine Forehead said feedback was positive, noting that no rules were broken. Teresa Heron called the findings “heartwarming” and praised the foster carers’ skills. She noted that these skills are vitally important.
David Bezzina asked about care reviews, which weren’t done on time. Gareth Jenkins said they missed some after COVID rules changed. He admitted it was an oversight.
Care reviews are now the only improvement area. Inspectors will check on this later, as the reviews should happen every six months.
