Inspectors found kids are getting good care and enjoying activities. Some care reviews were late.

The staff receive regular training. They get good supervision, too. The council’s education committee met. They praised the foster care staff and also thanked the foster families. This happened on February 20th.
Elaine Forehead is in charge of social care. She said inspectors were very positive, and they found no rules being broken. Teresa Heron called the report “heartwarming.” She praised foster parents’ skills, adding that they are vitally important.
David Bezzina is on the committee. He asked about missed care reviews, noting that rules say reviews need to happen on time. Gareth Jenkins works in social services. He said reviews became less frequent after Covid rules changed.
Jenkins admitted it was an oversight. Care reviews should happen every six months, and this is the only area needing improvement. Inspectors will check on this next time.
