Caitlin Harris started at Specsavers in 2020. She began by doing home visits for them. In 2021, she became an optometrist’s assistant.

She studied optometry at Cardiff University. She finished her degree in July 2023. Caitlin then joined Specsavers’ pre-registration program. After training, she became a qualified optometrist.

She now has a full-time job at the store. Caitlin celebrates her new career during National Careers Week. She wants to inspire other young people. Caitlin said optometry is very rewarding.

She is thankful for the support from her team. She enjoys helping the local community with their eye health. University visits really influenced her decision. She hasn’t regretted her choice since then. She thinks National Careers Week is great.

Caitlin advises young people to explore careers. She encourages interest in optometry. It offers lots of development and good feelings.

Caitlin wants to improve her abilities more. She will start courses in medical retina soon. She plans to study glaucoma too. Independent prescribing will follow. She could then handle harder cases.
