A former nightclub in Colne will transform into a cafe and play area, creating jobs and family fun.

Well, someone named Matthew Oliver will change it. He’s making it into “Crumb and Play.” It will be both a café and a play area where kids can pretend to be grown-ups. He will completely fix up the building inside.
They’ll add a food counter and a proper kitchen. Think of comfy places to eat. Baby and toddler classes, and parents’ groups, will now have room to meet.
New signs will go up outside. The café will provide three full-time jobs, and one part-time job will be available. Regular hours are 9 am to 5 pm every day, serving food and offering playtime. Evening classes are from 5 pm to 10 pm on weekdays, and it’s open Saturdays too.
The place is near the Commercial Hotel pub and at a traffic light crossroads. There is no parking on site. Colne’s public car parks are nearby, though.
The town council is happy with the plan. The health team wants soundproofing to protect neighbors from noisy kids. A shop front change needs approval, as it happened without permission first.
Planners approved the project, but there are terms. They must meet a deadline for completion. They also need a car park map for the council to help with access and overall safety.
