Three lynx are doing well after being illegally released in the Cairngorms. A permanent home is being sought.

A wildlife charity trapped the lynx near Kingussie earlier in January. All three lynx are female and thought to be less than a year old.
The CEO of RZSS called the release irresponsible, adding that they would likely die without rescue. He is glad they are recovering at the zoo, where the team is watching them closely.
The lynx are becoming confident and each one is showing their personality. Finding a permanent home is the next challenge, and they will stay at the zoo during the search. The zoo has asked for donations for the cats.
The zoo named them A, B, and C temporarily; a style that honors the zoo’s founder. The zoo opened in 1913. Sadly, one lynx died after capture, a male believed to be the same age as the females.
