Three lynx rescued after an illegal Cairngorms release are doing well in quarantine. One male sadly died after capture.

Remember that fourth lynx? Sadly, it died after capture. It was a male, around the same age as the girls. Experts at RZSS confirmed it.
They’ve named the girls A, B, and C for now. It’s like how Edinburgh Zoo did it back in 1913. Their founder, Thomas Gillespie, used those names back then.
They caught the lynx near Kingussie. People saw them around the Drumguish area. Releasing them was irresponsible, says RZSS chief David Field. He thinks they’d have died without rescue.
Good news, though! The lynx are doing fine. They’re getting better at the Edinburgh Zoo quarantine, and the keepers and vets are happy. They’re seeing the lynx develop confidence.
They finished quarantine successfully. Now, the zoo needs to find them a permanent home. The lynx will stay at the zoo for now while they are weighing all of the options.
Caring for them is costly, so the zoo asked for help. People responded with lots of donations and that encouraged them greatly.
