Burglaries in Calverley and Farsley decreased, a positive shift from last year’s concerns. Council members are pleased with progress.

Last November, they worried about rising burglaries. Calverley and Farsley burglaries doubled in a year. Now, Calverley and Farsley had 13 burglaries recently; that’s five fewer than before.
Craig Timmins is a councillor. He’s glad burglaries decreased this year and sees police efforts are working well. Timmins wants police to name problem spots to help target anti-social behavior.
Andrew Carter, another councillor, agrees and is glad crime numbers improve now. He said burglaries were not acceptable before, and Carter worries about late-night trouble in Farsley.
Carter said police might feel squeezed and urges action on disorder soon. He wants to protect improvements made for locals. Business burglaries happened near Rodley Town Street.
Adrian McCluskey chairs the meeting and worries about robberies in the area. McCluskey noted 15 more burglaries happened in his ward, while burglaries in Pudsey residences went down. Business break-ins increased, with pubs being targeted there three times.
The Committee has nine councillors total. They represent Calverley & Farsley, Farnley & Wortley, and Pudsey. The group includes Labour, Conservative, Independent, and Green voices.
