CAMRA promotes bus & train travel to support Wiltshire pubs, combat loneliness, & offer safe, sustainable transport.

It’s tough times economically, so the plan aids pub owners and bus companies. They also want to fight loneliness, as rural areas need this support. The project discourages drink driving.
Number 29 bus travels the Chalke Valley. Pensioners ride buses without cost, and bus fares are affordable for others. Already, they have organized some group trips.
Most months, they will plan two trips, and you don’t need to join CAMRA to travel. Andrew Ward helps organize the program. He says buses and pubs are essential.
They combat rural social isolation, and buses act as crucial support. He thinks this shows support while having fun. Pete Matthews also helps with the trips.
He said lots of pubs foster community. Buses offer sustainable, safe rides to pubs. Salisbury Reds supports this program and they run many of these bus routes.
Lucy Humphrey works for Salisbury Reds. She says they happily promote CAMRA trips and this displays their rural bus network. Many Wiltshire folks have nearby bus service.
