Cardiff Council approves plans for 205 homes in Lisvane at Church Farm, despite concerns about noise and pollution.

John Lancaster, a councillor for Lisvane and Thornhill, said the M4 noise would affect homes. Emma Reid-Jones agreed with him. She said air pollution could also be a problem.
Reid-Jones mentioned the local development plan. The plan designates the site for housing. She wants new residents to feel welcome and to love where they live.
She is worried about public transport, as the local bus comes only every two hours. Because of this, Lisvane residents rely on cars.
The council added conditions to control noise. They require sound insulation in the homes. The approval needs a financial contribution too, which includes money for transport improvements.
Redrow Homes will contribute money. They will give £100,000 for bus services, and £190,000 will go towards footway and cycle measures. Bus lane improvements will receive £360,000.
Michael Michael, a planning committee member, visited the site in Lisvane. He thinks the noise level is fine and sees fewer houses per acre than usual.
He does not see issues preventing permission. The planning application had two parts. The first phase has 61 homes and received full planning permission.
Phase two contains 144 homes and received outline planning permission. The council accepted the development idea, but details must still be reviewed later in another application.
