A proposal seeks to transform a Reedley bungalow into a children’s care home for two, with minimal exterior alterations.

They won’t change how the house looks outside. The house is a four-bedroom bungalow right now. Inside, it has a kitchen and a dining room. There’s also a bathroom and some bedrooms.
Two bedrooms are big, and two are tiny box rooms. One big bedroom is over the garage. This bedroom has its own attached bathroom. They plan to turn a small box room into an office.
The kids will get the main house bedrooms. They want to tear down the garage completely. An extension will replace it, becoming staff’s bedroom. This suggests staff will sleep at the house.
Currently, there’s parking for two cars out front. The plans show they’ll add a parking spot. They’ll pave over part of the front garden. This would give them more space. In the back, there’s a patio area.
A separate lawn covers around 101 square meters. A lot of paperwork is actually hidden from view. It’s hard to get info from other documents. The council approved its use back in August.
Caregivers living there will work as a family. They will support the kids’ independent living. They want to get the kids back into the community. The council stated this wouldn’t really change the use.
Another application was also approved separately. This allowed them to tear down the garage. They can build their extension too. Shaheen Miah owns the house and made those initial requests.
Mr. I Muhammad made the most recent plan. The public can comment until March 3. You can see details on the council website.
