A staff member was arrested at a Scottish care home amid an abuse investigation.

Police charged a worker after a probe. This employee worked there for thirty years. The charges involve suspected resident ill-treatment. The procurator fiscal now has the case.
Springvale’s management started their probe too. Several staff members are now suspended. They are waiting for the investigation to finish. A whistleblower said issues center on the dementia unit.
The Care Inspectorate monitors Springvale’s situation currently. They said the management fully cooperated so far. The service notified them about various incidents, and they also reported actions taken to address them.
The Care Inspectorate supports the service now. They stay in contact with health partners. This ensures residents’ health and dignity. Springvale also said they take this very seriously.
They said, upon concerns, they acted fast. Springvale suspended staff right away and launched a full investigation with authorities. They stressed resident safety is their top priority. They will always act to protect residents.
Police Scotland confirmed one arrest. The arrested woman is thirty years old and is charged with resident ill-treatment. Police reported it to the fiscal.
This isn’t the first time for Springvale. In 2020, police arrested three women after mistreatment allegations. Nine residents died from coronavirus there too.
