Man claims self-defense in the death of chef Mussie Imnetu at Notting Hill Carnival. Trial continues.

Wilson punched Imnetu outside a restaurant. The attack occurred on August 26 last year in London. Imnetu worked with famous chefs, including Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing.
Imnetu died in the hospital four days later, never waking up after the attack. Wilson is 31, and Imnetu was 41. Wilson pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
Wilson told the court he regrets Imnetu’s death. He claimed he was just trying to protect himself. Imnetu was reportedly very drunk during the attack.
The court learned Wilson headbutted the chef. Then, Wilson punched and kicked him on the ground. Wilson told police Imnetu became aggressive, saying he told Imnetu to leave some women alone.
Wilson felt threatened by the chef and thought Imnetu would attack him. Wilson claimed he feared for his life and told jurors he felt trapped and scared during the fight.
Wilson thought the chef held a broken bottle, and said he regrets the death. Wilson said he did not realize police were so close, and he denies wanting to hurt Imnetu seriously.
Wilson claimed he only wanted to stop the threat. Wilson reacted because he believed Imnetu had a bottle. CCTV footage showed there was no bottle, which Wilson said made him feel disgusted.
Wilson told the court it seemed excessive, knowing this. He denies intending serious harm, and the trial continues.
