Steakhouse’s equipment plan denied over noise concerns. Residents impacted. Mitigation efforts are in progress.

The noise assessment lacks approval. A humming sound comes from the restaurant. People noticed it in July 2024 and January 2024. A planning officer confirmed the noise issue. The humming bothered residents nearby.
The noise source remains unclear, however. A fence should reduce the sound. The restaurant has not built that fence yet. The planning department rejected the assessment January 23. The steakhouse promised to fix things.
Miller & Carter says they are watching closely. Their team wants to prevent noise issues. Bamboo screens were added after the change. These screens aimed to reduce noise previously.
The council visited January 20 and found noise. The team knows this impacts residents badly. They hired an engineer and contractor for help. They will install acoustic cowls on cooling units. Expect sturdier kitchen extract screens also.
The engineers will visit soon to begin. The council rejected the new equipment plan. This happened due to a noise assessment issue. They will keep trying to lower noise levels there. The restaurant used to be named The Grosvenor. Mitchells & Butlers owns Miller & Carter currently.
