After nine years, Caythorpe Beavers seeks a new leader. Jenny Higgs steps down, needs her replacement fast with more volunteers.

She liked their first camping trip, as Beavers were nervous but loved it. Older kids helped younger ones. This made Jenny feel good as a leader, especially since her son was a Beaver when she started.
Now he is 16 and very tall, and he helps lead the Caythorpe cubs group. Camps were Jenny’s favorite part, and she took Beavers camping. She also went to big Scout camps, including Normandy in 2019, and two Lincolnshire jamborees.
Jenny is proud of the Beavers’ and Cubs’ development, highlighting how they all helped each other during lockdown. Jenny is leaving her role soon, so a replacement is needed quickly. The group also needs more volunteers.
Marie Hall said you must be over 18 and need a DBS check. Commit to at least one hour a week, because the group needs help to remain open. Scouts will provide all training. Skills like cooking or crafts are welcome, and Marie said volunteering can be tailored to your skills.
It is fun and rewarding, and seeing kids enjoy their first camp is heartwarming.
