A Cefn Mawr man, 32, lost his licence for two years after drink driving in Wrexham. He was fined and must pay court costs.

The prosecutor said a woman contacted police. She stated a man in a Mercedes acted strangely and tried to get her into his car. Police found the Mercedes soon after that call, and Franklin said he owned the car.
Police smelled alcohol on Franklin and noticed his eyes looked “glazed”. He took a breath test in custody, which showed 49 micrograms of alcohol. The legal limit is 35.
The defense lawyer spoke for Franklin, admitting he drove the car but denying any wrongdoing with the woman. He said Franklin offered her help as she seemed drunk and that he cooperated fully with police.
Franklin was surprised by the breath test result, as he had been at a family party the day before and slept before driving. The lawyer said losing his license will hurt him a lot, as he and his partner work at the same care home and are expecting a baby. He drives them to work, the lawyer explained, but he accepts his actions.
The court fined Franklin £400. He must pay £85 in court costs, and they banned him from driving for two years.
