Police found the man deceased there. They do not suspect foul play in his death, and his family has been told about what happened. Rick Stein Restaurants’ manager, Ian Fitzgerald, said they were sad about their chef’s passing.
Fitzgerald noted no suspicious events occurred. They respect the family’s privacy desires and will not share more details. He said condolences go to the family, adding that friends and others will miss him, as he was a valued team member.
Rick Stein bought The Cornish Arms in 2009 with Jilly Stein, his former wife. The Rick Stein Group employs over 600 people now. It includes restaurants, a school for cooks, shops, and rooms.
