Russell Brookman, formerly of Bar Nine, returns to his culinary passion at Cattivo Pizza in Cirencester, focusing on Neapolitan pizzas.

Russell has worked in hospitality for a long time, over twenty-five years. He was a head chef near Antwerp, Belgium, before discovering his love for Italian pizza.
Dan Egan also joined Cattivo Pizza. He used to own Big Slice Pizza Co where people loved his Neapolitan pizzas. He moved to Gloucestershire and is refining his skills to share his pizza passion.
Cattivo Pizza opened in August 2024. It is located in Cirencester Park and uses Neapolitan techniques to make simple, great pizza bases. They focus on seasonal, local ingredients, and sustainability is very important to them.
Sam Lawson-King, Mike Robinson, and Toby Baggott co-founded Cattivo. Mike Robinson helped create the pizza menu and owns Michelin-starred pub, The Harwood Arms, as well as The Woodsman and The Elder.
Cattivo makes its own sourdough. The dough ferments for twenty-four hours, which makes the base nutty and chewy. They use venison from Mike’s estate, honey from his own beehives, and herbs grow in Roots & Seeds garden.
Their pizzas also use top quality Italian ingredients, including parmesan, burrata, and olive oil, as well as San Marzano tomatoes.
Cattivo Pizza is at The Old Kennels in Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire, GL7 1UR. Cattivo is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 3 PM to 9 PM on weekdays and from 12 PM to 9 PM on weekends.
