Golden Lion pub gets the green light for solar panels, new path and more in Cheshire West and Chester.

They’re adding solar panels for energy and new windows are also planned for the pub. There will also be a path for walkers to the beer garden. Lyndsay Shinner approved it on February 4th.
Lyndsay works for Cheshire West and Chester Council. She said they already replaced the windows and solar panels are going behind the parking lot. This means losing three parking spots.
The panels will sit at the right angle for sunlight and they won’t be taller than the neighbor’s fence. They will sit between the side fence and a green area.
The path will connect the pub to the village shop, creating easy access for disabled people. The path means removing some overgrown plants there.
They are planning two disabled parking spots. Bike racks will go against the building’s back wall, and repairs to the roof don’t need extra approval.
The town council backs this project, which is good because they said it’s good for the village. It also makes the pub more eco-friendly now, wanting it to follow energy rules.
Lyndsay Shinner said the plan is okay and it fits with the area’s historical look. She added that it helps the look of the street, and the pub’s return helps the area by keeping the Green Belt open. It won’t hurt anyone’s home or the roads.
