Charity offers assistance as families in Scotland face rising energy, council tax, and other essential bills in April.

Scotland has many kids in poverty. One in four face this hardship. A children’s charity suggests families seek support and urges people not to suffer silently.
Plus, council tax is rising in many areas. Some places have the biggest increases in 20 years. Families also face higher water and broadband bills, as well as rising TV license and phone costs.
Sinead Haddow from Children First spoke about this. She said families face many price hikes. These rises might push them into crisis, as they talk to struggling families daily.
She knows this causes massive pressure. Sinead wants families to know they aren’t alone and that Children First is here to provide help. She urges worried families to reach out to them.
Children First gives practical help to families, and they offer emotional support too. They can also give financial advice as their expert team knows financial wellbeing well. They helped families earn almost £2.5 million last year and managed over £500,000 in debt for families.
One mom called Children First’s support “amazing.” She called it a lifeline during a tough year.
The expert team has some advice. Create a budget and plan your spending. Focus on paying for what you truly need, work to reduce debt, talk about money with the whole family, and ask for help if you really need it.
