A 27-home development is proposed for Chiswell Green. Public consultation is open for feedback on the project.

A company called DLA Town Planning made the proposal. They plan to knock down the house there first. The new buildings will have 27 homes.
The land is in Chiswell Green, behind Noke Side. It’s near Long Fallow. Horses graze there now. These houses would sit between two other housing areas.
One was approved already. The other is planned. Half the houses are set to be affordable. That fits rules for “grey belt” land use.
They think the visual impact on the Green Belt is small. Their report says the project causes no landscape or visual harm. They believe this site follows the “Golden Rules”.
Thus, it is fine for building in the Green Belt. They also talked about the Local Plan. The builders think it’s a good spot to build. It’s near services and a good place for a settlement.
New roads for cars are planned. Also, they will build a new walkway. They will save current trees and plants when possible.
Thames Water said they don’t object to the building. You can share your thoughts until March 22, 2025. Check out application 5/2024/2293 on the council website. The council is St Albans City and District.
