Local Vocals choir performed Pompeii on Saturday. The singers surprised shoppers at the shopping center. They were on all three floors, and some even sang on the escalators.

Laura Bennett-Gornall, from LIPA, started Local Vocals. The choir celebrates community through singing. They started four years ago, and Local Vocals has nine groups in the North West. They rehearse weekly and often perform for local charities.

Many singers performed publicly for the first time on Saturday, having joined groups in Morecambe and Clitheroe recently. The choir supports charities and has raised over £33,000 for charity. They support the North West Air Ambulance, North West Blood Bikes, and Lancashire Mind.

They are raising money for Childflight this term, a charity that helps sick children by providing flights and holidays. Childflight was founded in 1987 and is located at Manchester Airport, maintaining North West fundraising connections and bringing joy to children through adventure and medical help.

Local Vocals is supporting Childflight currently, and people can donate to their online fundraiser. The choir wants new members, and no singing experience matters. Interested individuals can try a free session.
