Nest box approved for Bradford City Hall to aid peregrine breeding. CCTV to monitor birds. Community project for 2025.

Now, planners approved another nest box. This one is for Bradford City Hall. A pair of peregrines lives there now. They haven’t had much luck breeding before. They lay eggs on bare stone.
The plan adds a nest and a CCTV camera. It will go on the 200-foot clock tower. The hall is a Grade I-listed building. The project gives the birds attention. This happens during Bradford’s City of Culture year.
The CCTV helps monitor the birds. Bradford Urban Wildlife Group will use it. People can see the footage online. They can view it at events too. The project helps peregrines in Bradford.
It also connects people with these birds. Peregrines are the fastest animals on Earth. They claim territory on the City Hall tower. Nest boxes with gravel help a lot. They improve urban breeding success.
Community groups and schools work together. These partners engage with Bradford 2025. This will raise the birds’ profile. It will also highlight the historic building. Seven people supported these plans in writing.
One person said it could bring more visitors. The building is in Centenary Square. It is a prominent building in Bradford. The nest box will be hard to see. It is small and high up. It won’t attach to the stonework. It uses braces behind the crenelations instead.
