Christine McLean got a special award. It happened at her unit meeting last month. Elin Marsh, the county commissioner, presented it.

Christine is part of the 17th Ayr Guides and Ranger Unit. She started with the Guides as a young member. Later, in 1984, she became a unit leader. Christine attended many camps and trips.

She held different roles in the county. She helped girls and young women thrive. Angie leads with Christine and feels happy. Christine received her 40-year service badge.

Christine gives her time and lots of energy. She shares her love for Guiding with the girls. They are very thankful for her work. Volunteers make time from their hearts, not schedules.

Christine definitely shows immense commitment. Elin said Christine was district commissioner. She also advised on Guides and activities. Plus, she mentored new leaders.

Christine loves guiding and leading girls. She plans to continue her guiding work. Elin thanked her for giving the girls fun. They also learn great skills from her work.

Elaine Rough is the Scottish chief commissioner. She said forty years is a big accomplishment. Christine worked hard to improve girls’ lives. It happened through guiding activities.
