Dr. Shaw Paterson to lead service at Kilwinning Abbey Church on March 9, delivering the day’s sermon.

Dr. Paterson was born in Holytown in September 1964 and has been a church minister since 1991. He currently works at Strathaven Trinity Parish Church.
Despite initial doubts due to his accent, he earned four degrees from Glasgow University, including a doctorate. His doctorate focused on supporting women who had experienced early miscarriages.
During his time as minister, he created community programs, including a memory group for people with thinking problems. He also started a lunch club for pupils.
In 2024, he was made Moderator of the General Assembly, with his theme being ‘Building Together’. This reflects his goals and hope to connect people.
A spokesperson for Kilwinning Abbey Church expressed their happiness in welcoming Dr. Paterson. They noted his life and work align with their values and their excitement about hosting him.
The spokesperson also extended an invitation to everyone, stating the service will be a time for reflection and to foster unity. They hope everyone can join this special time.
Tea and snacks will be served after the service, providing an opportunity for people to connect and talk. They can share ideas and get to know each other.
Everyone is welcome to attend the service.
