Two Clackmannanshire groups, Wasp Community Club and Active8 Sauchie, receive funding from Yorkshire Bank.

The Wasp Community Club got some help and received £1,500 for their “Hive” project. They will turn a nightclub into a place for teens. Active8 Sauchie also got a grant; they received £1,000 to keep their group going.
They will create a sensory room for kids aged 8 to 12. Lauren Douglas works at the Alloa branch and she is proud to support Active8 Sauchie, as their work impacts the community positively.
The Wasps help kids and teens, too, and offer them a supportive, safe place. This helps them continue their important work. Tony McMinn works at Wasp Community Club, and he is thankful for the donation they received. They are excited to open The Hive soon.
The Yorkshire Building Society funds the grants through their “Small Change” program, where members donate pennies from their interest. Last year, the foundation gave over £283,000 and supported local charities across the UK. Members nominated the charities.
Sandra Gruar heads Sauchie Active8 and is thankful for the donation, too. It came after Lauren Douglas nominated them, and they’ll develop their sensory space with it.
