Classic Class 37 diesel trains delight fans in Inverness after a special rail tour via the Forth Bridge.

The trains returned for a special rail tour. They had not been there for decades. Two Class 37 engines arrived at Inverness station. Many people came to see this event.
These engines are 65 years old. They ran on the Far North and West Highland Lines. More modern trains replaced them in the 1990s.
Engines 37403 ‘Isle of Mull’ and 37409 ‘Loch Awe’ returned. They pulled a train from Carlisle. The train was full of train fans.
The train was supposed to go via Stirling. A freight train broke down. The train went over the Forth Bridge. It finally arrived in Inverness late. The train stayed in Inverness for two hours. Then, it went back to Carlisle.
More old trains are coming this summer. Two Class 20s will travel to Inverness. They will then go to Kyle of Lochalsh. This tour is called The Lochalsh Chopper.
The Class 20 tour will run across three days. It starts on June 21 in Crewe. The trains will stop in Inverness. Day two is a trip to Kyle. Day three ends in Aberdeen.
These engines are familiar to some. They sometimes ran with Class 27s. They did not often carry people. This trip to Kyle is their first.
