Adam Shepherd, 29, faces court after a 2023 car meet incident, part of a larger police investigation.

Shepherd, age 29 and from Clitheroe, appeared in court along with Lewis Bailey, Shabbir Ahmed, and Muhammad Butt, who are 22, 22, and 28 years old, respectively. Hanaan Akbar, age 22, will appear in court later, on February 20th; he is the fifth man charged.
Police investigated car meets with local partners and found vehicles broke a protection order. This order covered public spaces. Local councils dealt with 278 vehicle owners. Courts imposed these actions, with fines totaling over £12,000.
Chief Inspector Michael Parker stated they’re serious about illegal car meets, which get promoted online and often draw large crowds. He further stated these events are dangerous, posing risks to participants and bystanders, while also causing property damage and significant noise disturbance to local residents. Sometimes, fatal crashes occur.
These meets block roads, preventing emergency vehicles from getting through and hindering them from helping people.
