Road closes 9 AM to 4 PM daily for tree work and repairs. Two phases affect different sections of Coldean Lane.

They’re doing the work in two parts. Today and tomorrow, it’s the top part of the road. Drivers can still use Ditchling Road for now. The area goes from Carden Avenue to Hawkhurst Road, passing Saunders Hill and Beatty Avenue.
Wednesday through Friday, they shut down the other part. That section goes from Hawkhurst Road to Lewes Road. It includes the traffic lights by A270.
The city council wants to cause less trouble. Different teams will work together on many things. They will fix the road, clear drains, cut brush, and remove trees with diseases.
This way, they can get more done at once, which cuts down on how much the road is closed overall. The road opens before and after the Albion soccer game Tuesday.
You can still get to your house during the closure. Buses will also keep running, but on different routes. They planned it to cause the least amount of trouble possible for people.
