GRAHAM and AECOM hired for HIF1 stage two, including dual carriageway, bridges and bypass construction.

HIF1 includes a new A4130 dual carriageway running from the A34 Milton Interchange toward Didcot; they plan new bridges and a bypass at Clifton Hampden.
GRAHAM will handle designing the Culham river crossing and the Clifton Hampden bypass. AECOM will design other parts, specifically leading the Didcot Science Bridge design and the A4130 widening. Construction should start in early 2026.
Judy Roberts spoke about the contractors, saying GRAHAM has relevant experience and their plan understood the project’s complexities, showing how all parts connect. She also spoke about AECOM’s involvement; AECOM has helped since the project began and supported planning applications, with their expert knowledge helping to move the project toward construction.
Andrew Henry also commented that GRAHAM worked with the council since April 2023 through early contractor involvement, and will make a positive community impact, intending to consider everyone.
