A teenager sprayed shoppers with chili oil at a Bristol Costco, injuring ten. The store was evacuated; a suspect is in custody.

The police arrived at the store in Avonmouth around 6:30 PM on Monday, responding to reports of a chemical incident. The store was subsequently evacuated as a precaution.
The police investigated the incident and arrested the boy, who is suspected of causing serious harm by using a potentially harmful substance.
Police reported that ten people experienced itchy or stinging eyes and skin, including the teenage boy himself. Fortunately, all individuals recovered well at the scene.
The liquid is believed to be homemade chili spray, and did not contain strong acids or alkali. Fire services confirmed the liquid was not harmful overall. Police concluded their investigation and left the Costco store at approximately 9 PM.
The police are asking witnesses to contact them with any information they may have by calling 101.
