Cosy Club is opening at The Oracle, Reading, this Spring after noise concerns were resolved.

The council approved plans for kitchen equipment needed for the restaurant’s menu. Concerns arose about noise and cooking smells due to condenser units and extraction equipment.
A council officer, Mishga Marshall, assessed the project and decided the equipment wouldn’t be a problem because mitigation measures were in place. The council’s environmental team agreed with her.
The project got approved on February 18th. You can view the application online using reference PL/24/1428 on the council’s website.
The council discussed the Cosy Club conversion last December. Rebecca Moon, from environmental health, had concerns about noise from equipment and customers.
The environmental health team is now satisfied with the plans. The business agreed to close the outdoor area at 10 PM, reducing noise for neighbors because of customers.
Laura Grantham, from Premier Suites, initially objected due to noise concerns. Gareth Morgan, an operations manager at Cosy Club, hopes to open in April.
Cosy Club can stay open late. They can stay open until 1:30 AM Thursday to Saturday, and Sunday to Wednesday, they close at 12:30 AM.
