The Throckmorton family will resume management of their ancestral home, Coughton Court, in Warwickshire from 2026.

The National Trust has managed the visitor stuff since 2005. They will continue until early next year. Then the family will run it independently. Magnus said Coughton Court has lots of stories.
He’s excited to add a family touch to the visitor experience. He wants to work with the team. Together they will ensure a vibrant future. The Throckmortons have managed things for a long time.
Magnus’s mom and grandma created the gardens. He and Imogen will keep that up. They’ll work across the estate with the community. The family descends from Sir Robert Throckmorton.
He built the house way back in 1409. Magnus and Imogen already live there. Their two kids live there too at Coughton Court and enjoy the gardens. They want Coughton Court’s personality to shine.
They plan to tell its story in an engaging way. They aim to make everyone feel at home. The family will again handle the visitor experience. They are planning community events.
They are exploring ways to attract more people. They will build upon what is already there. Magnus is grateful for the National Trust’s work. He said they have done loads of restoration.
He feels it’s time for the family to manage it themselves. The National Trust owns the property still. They will continue to help care for it. Oliver Burke works for the National Trust.
