Bishop Auckland Football Club gets the green light for a new fanzone with food services and a viewing platform.

Steve Coulthard filed the application for the club and it was approved on February 20, 2025. MD2 Consulting Ltd is managing the project, with Glenn McGill as their representative. Heritage Park will house the new fan area, aiming to provide better facilities.
They’re building a two-story structure using shipping containers, which replaces some gazebos and picnic tables. The first floor will have food and hospitality services, while the second floor offers an open viewing area with steel windows and doors.
Construction must begin within three years and precisely follow the official blueprints. The project doesn’t need Biodiversity Net Gain, but if they find pollution, they must tell officials at once.
Work hours are set for weekdays from 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays allow work from 9 AM to 2 PM. No loud work happens on Sundays or holidays.
Its design seemed acceptable for a football ground, and people didn’t think it would bother anyone nearby. The area is mostly businesses and factories.
The new development won’t change the parking, which has 119 spaces now. No one objected during the public review, and Sport England and other officials also approved it.
